Cup: Big surprise at the final.

Slovan was considered the obvious winner, yet they lost the final and were unable to collect a double.

TJ Gottwaldov barely escaped relegation from the First Division, but performed very well in the Cup – first they won the Czech Cup and at the final for the Czechoslovak Cup prevailed over the strongest team in the country. Yes, after shoot-out, but their victory was kind of a miracle. It was the first trophy in the already long history of the club and for a second success had to wait 46 years.
