France II Division

II Division. Because of enlargement of First Division for the next season – from 18 to 20 teams and the technical relegation of Rouen, 3 teams were promoted – the usual 2 top-positioned teams plus Stade Reims. Reims went up because Olympique Avignon was not financially strong enough to play top league football.
