Lyon, seemingly stronger than Rennes, lost the final.

Rennes, short on trophies – like Lyon – and having less strong players than their opponents, prevailed in the final.

Rennes – or Stade Rennais, or Le Stade de Rennes – won their second Cup and second altogether trophy.
