USSR III Division

 

Third Level. Instead of 4 Groups, now there were 6 Zones. Their winners played qualification tournament and three of them were promoted to Second Division. Here are few teams playing Third Level football in 1970:

Bukovina (Chernovtzy) – Zone I

Dinamo (Kirov), from a friendly with Dinamo (Moscow), so it is hard to distinguish the squads – Zone IV

Lokomotiv (Vinitza) – Zone I

Metalurg (Tula) – Zone II

Zenit (Izhevsk) – Zone V

Promoted from Third Level were: Shinnik (Yaroslavl), Kuzbass (Kemerovo), and

Metalurg (Zaporozhye)
